I'm curious -- what would it take to turn a tube integrated amp into a power amp? Are we talking major or minor surgery?

Thanks.

My ss integrated (nad c352) simply has two little connector things that go from the first set of preouts into a main in. They're seperated like that so that you can easily use it for just it's pre section or just as an amp. Not sure if you'd have that one the tube int you're talking about but it's worth checking for.

If the volume is just an attenuator, then simply bypass it. If there is a preampification function in the signal line it may not be that simple.

All you need is a fine point sharpie and a spl meter. I'm guessing that you're going to put the tube amp into a HT setup and it'll get it's signal from a pre/pro. So hook the pre out to any input on the integrated, put on some test tones and bring up the volume on the integrated until it matches the other channels. mark this position with the sharpie. Done. Now you could take it apart to try & bypass the pre section entirely, but for your purposes the improvment would be minimal.
