last night while watching star wars II, i noticed at the beginning of the movie the sub was putting out certain frequencies that was causing the speaker to hit the grill and make a loud vibrating sound. If I take the grill off, then the noise goes away. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this happening before or if this sub is just being pushed too hard. The volume levels weren’t too loud, so I’m not sure why this is happening.

Take a dremel tool to the backside of the grill and free up some space.

Has the subs been pushed hard and loosened or damaged the surround? If it is in great shape, I would just go with PolkThug's adivce and free-up that excursion.

Can you explain how to do this. Do you mean to add some type of spacer between the grill and the speaker?

a spacer would most likely a better idea just cut a wooden ring thats bigger than the surround on the inside, but a hair smaller than the frame onthe outside and reattach your grill
