Gremlins?

So... I had been noticing of late that my system was requiring some minor channel level adjustments from time to time to achieve what I (and my sidekick Cap'n Ear) consider "optimal". As the wife and I generally sit a little off center from the front speakers, this usually necessitated that the left channel operate at -3 db while the right cozy on in to +/-0. That being said (and it was), I'd find myself kicking the left down to -4 to achieve the same results (like, for example, last night).
Huh? What? Que? All acceptable queries-- all muttered by yours truly at some point. Only to be answered this morning, when admiring my purdy homemade jumpers to give me the boost I need to get through today's workplace drudgery/sludgery/pencil-pushin' boombudgery....
If the wife wasn't squaring up my speakers!!!!! I mean, she must have a laser level stashed away in her Secret Garden, cuz Chocheese, it was perfect. So I've been angling (toeing in, toeing out, doing the hokey pokey and shaking my speaks all about), while the wife has been going behind me...
restoring balance to her universe.
Just a head's up....you think you know someone... and.... and...
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Put them where you want them and watch her.
Every time she goes to touch them smack her on the back of the hand with a rolled up newspaper.
    Works everytime.

    sorry Ms Frizz...:p
um... the left channel is normally set at -3 under reference while the right remains at 0
found myself having to go from -3 to -4 too often for my liking
    found the culprit
the wife was moving the speakers
    not gremlins:)

I would really get on her if she was moving the gremlins.
