Hi there am fairly new to Polk, I recently purchased a little system for my self.

I work at Tweeter so 've been looking at getting these for a while, but I recently maned up and decided to buy them, but here is what I purcahsed

"Humm, I wonder what that huge truck is doing in our front parking lot :dunno"

sspx00955le.jpg

Of course all those big boxes wouldn't fit in my car :o , so I called my dad and he came in an expedition to bring this stuff home for me

And here is what I got...

sspx00963rx.jpg

sspx01046lt.jpg

sspx01054zy.jpg

I also have another pair of LSi9 that I won't bring out yet, I might put those on the Tv downstairs, or use them as rear speakers for now.. who knows...

But here is what I have for now..

Lsi9Ch (a pair + a pair in a box)
LsiC (center channel)
PSW1000Ch Dual 10" baby :D This sucker actually can shake the house

On the Next paycheck am getting a new receiver a Yamaha RXV2600 :D

Sidenote sorry for blurry pics, were taken by my phone

Oh, and after I actually set them up, it made me realize it's time for a new TV as well, :p

And don't worry, that's not where the Center is going, I just momentarely put it on top of TV to take pictures, I might just screw it on the wall behind the TV for now and when the new TV comes in (probably a PRO930HD or something along those lines) I'll set it in front of it

sspx01093og.jpg

But Sound comes first though... next paycheck is going towards an RXV2600 and some nice audioquest cables and who know maybe a panamax power center ;)

What do you guys think?

    They look nice.
You might want to think about putting more space between the left and right speakers just for better definition.

We have all LSI speakers (25's, 15's, 9's, 7's) in our high end room but we just have the PSW1000 on display from the LSI subs none of the smaller ones are hooked up.

Not sure where you live but any Tweeter, Showcase Home Entertainment, Shocase, Hillcrest High Fidelity, Sound Advice should have it in there high end room.... If any of those stores are close by you, go check them out ;)

If not swing by the house in 2-3 weeks ;)

I'll take some pics of our high end room with the camera phone that you just seem to love soon :D

The phone pic is better than my former phone cam - totally dim and never got the sharpness you got.

I hate to be the voice of reason here, but I would not run that reciever with LSi speakers. It does look really nice and have great features, but the amp section is not supposed to be run on speakers under 6 ohms.

(Page 31 of the manual states that in the shipped configuration not to use speakers under 8 ohms. If you use 6 ohm speakers, change the ohm setting in the menu to allow for speakers with a 6 ohm minimum rating.)

It is your money and your system so do what you want, but better than most, you have the knowledge before you have purchased the reciever.

    Michael
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

I dont think Tweeter carries B&K anymore do they? Both Yamaha and Denons that I know they carry probably will not handle the LSis long term...and if you are driving HT...most people here will say forget it. Why don't you down grade the receiver and get a used power amp?
System 1: Martin Logan Vantage, Rotel RC 1070, B&K Reference 200.2, Music Hall DAC 15.2, Yamaha 2300

    System 2: LSi15 w/db840, Marantz SR8400, Rotel 1080, RM6800 (C&S), Sony X2020ES

System 3: LSi7, Yamaha SW215, Music Hall Maven, Music Hall MMF CD25 w/627opamps

System 4: RTi100, Harman Kardon AVR 230, Panasonic DVD

Agree with Mcloki & 2+2. get a cheaper receiver with preouts & start shopping for a used amp.

I'm a little disappointed in everyone here. It took til the 27th post for someone to finally man up and tell the guy not to put the LSi's on a receiver? Wow.

Honestly man, I know you get a great deal on it and all but you should maybe step down to the 1600 and use it as a preamp and with the money saved, get yourself a good 5/7 channel amp. You'll be 200 times happier. Trust me! Denon's work better with lower impedence speakers than Yamaha and I couldn't stand listening to my 9's off the Denon. Once I added an amp, WHOA! The speakers came to life!! Don't go cheap now... remember. Do it once, do it right!
Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

    Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

This brings up the question - why does Polk now use 4 to 6 ohm resistance on their speaks when the receiver world uses 8 ? This wasnt always the case with Polk - their ratings used to be 6 to 8 ohms on the pre-LSi line.

    Any thoughts ?

Rooz - I used the LSis on Power Amps. You will be more satisfied with the better detail and clarity using a pre/power amp combo vs. the receiver solution, hence, more $$$ if purchasing new. Too bad the audio world has taken a step back from pre/power amps to receivers.

Well, right now I have the system up on the very basics (crappy calbes all aorund and running on a friend's RXV220)

The speaker haven't broken in yet, but the sub is... ... humm.. a diff story!!!

It actually shakes the house, for instance, the hinges on my door rattle. But other than it being massive, it's pretty quick on response and you can adjust it as much as you want to.

The very next step in an actuall TV stand, then once I have that and everything take it's final place I'll get the 2600 and all the right cables and a power center.
