Just finishing up. Designing base now. Possible accents on baffle too. Drivers are Morel MDT30 tweet, Seas H1162 mid and HDS Peerless 8" poly.
I remember when 'broadband' meant The Go-Go's.

They're purdy...
C'mon we need some more info!! How do they sound? -
So far only one finished and paired that one up with one of my "Guarneris" which were my best sounding speakers. Extremely pleased so far. Very detailed mids and highs (Mundorf Supreme cap on the Morel). I'll know more in a day or so when I finish the other one.

Moreants,
If they sound half as good as they look, you will have a great set of speakers.

They look great! How's the bass from the HDS 8's? I've got a pair of those that I need to do something with. Care to share any crossover details? I've learned a lot from looking at other people's designs.

WOW! How long have you been building speakers? I must say I am totally impressed. Those are the most OEM looking DIY speakers I have ever seen. I was thinking of tackling a DIY one day and if mine look 1/4 as good as those I would be proud of myself.

Thanks. I started building speakers 8 mos. ago. This is my first floorstander. Still have a lot to learn.
I didn't know how my diy attempts would come out when I started. I'm not a carpenter, just someone who likes to design and build speakers. It's fun for me and very rewarding when you listen to them for the first time.
Other projects are here.

Those are all outstanding. Are you serious 8 months? You must have a vast carpentry background though.

An experienced carpenter would shake his head at some of my efforts (and could do the work much faster). But what counts is the results I guess and I have fun doing it (most important).
I also have to thank the guys at Sound Forum in Lake in the Hills, Il for letting me demo my speakers on their equipment and A-B them to other high-end speakers. Bought my NAD C352 there. Great people to do business with.

Details. Details. How do they compare to other high end gear? Probably tough to remember speaker for speaker though. Is the crossover the limiting factor in DIY's? For example you can buy Usher audio drivers but I doubt I could build them to sound like they do.

Very, very well done. This is coming from another DiY speaker guy.
What type of measurement setup did you use for these?
