rear wall 20ft away
Hi guys, i'm planning to move into 7.1 setup.....
but my rear wall is 20ft away from my listening position......
should I use wall mount for rear speakers of stands???
if stands how far away from my listening position......
and how high should the stands be??????
my setup is CSi5, RTi38 and FXi5......what should I get for rear??? or should I move the RTi38 to the back....

I say put them on stands with the tweeter at or just above the level of your ear when you are seated.
With stands you can move them around to find the perfect place for them.
Experiment with them and see what you like.
20' is not to far if you wanted to put them on the wall.Skynut

Also I would probably start out with the fx's on the side and the 38's in the rear near the rear wall.
The object of the rear and surrounds is to give you sound from behind but not really a location for the sound.
In other words you want to hear sound but not be able to tell where it came from unless a specific scene puts sound in that location of the room.Skynut
