Sorry to hear that brother. That's why I won't own anymore animals, putting my pug down years ago was painful.

Montana definitly has an infection given his elevated white blood cell count. they took an xrayof his abdomen (the obvious cause/sight of the infection) and it was hard to read. They are passing it to the radiologist who will look at it, and either make a diagnosis if he can or order an MRI or somethin glike that.

The vet said it could be a type of collitis of the large intestines, which can be treated with antibiotics and steroids no prob, but it can be something far worse too, we dont know yet.

he's in for another stay at the vet. the doc did tell he his stool is still very very loose, hence, whatever the problem is, it still persists.

update. he's still at the vet for observation. still waiting for the radiologist to eyeball the film. I saw montana today and he looked ALOT better than yesterday. attentive, alert, and wanting to get the hell out of that joint. that's the Tana I know and love. As long as there is no wierd crushing news on the film, I think I might be allright!!! sweeeeet!

the dog is home, the vet was comfortable letting him out and seeing what happens back home. I got some doggy prednisone as well as antibiotics, and a diarea med if that cranks up again. Still nothing from the radiologist, but things are looking ALOT better than they did yesterday and the night before

guys, sincerely, thanks for the thoughts. it means alot. I know I'm gonna lose this dog someday, but at least now it seems to be later than sooner.
