cable management.....help!!

Now that I have completed my 5.1 setup, I have a problem that is part aesthetic and part practical in nature. I have cables going everywhere. Not only the speaker cables, but subwoofer cables, interconnects, and cables for the HT and SACD/DVD-A playback. It is a real mess behind the TV.

How do folks with extensive wiring issues, keep things neat and tidy? Would plastic ties work for groups of cables, or is this a bad idea? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Pull-ties, velcro strapping, whatever your choice of poison is. Get a bag full of the stick-on pull-tie holders at Radio Shack too. They come in real handy routing stuff around.

Don't bind multiple cables tightly, just enough get them routed where you need them to go.

    I use zip-ties for mine.
I zipped all the power cables together and all the interconnects in bundles along their route.
My coax signal cables are bundled together.
I basically tried to keep them neat as possible and keep the power wires away from the signal wires away from the cable wires ect. ect.ect.

Yup... tie-wraps wll do it, but keep the power cords and the IC"s out of the same bundle and as far apart as practical.

One afterthought.... 3M's painters tape might be a nice alternative...

I use a couple of these. I always make sure to try and keep the power cables away from everything else.

to add to Tours recommendations, also keep non-fiber optic digital cables away from analog IC's.
