Center Channel Advice

I want to upgrade my center channel speaker and I'm trying to decide beween the CS2 and CSi3. If I could listen to both of them side by side it would make the decision easy, but I can't find a dealer that has both in stock. The dealer that has the CSi3 in stock is trying to convince me that it is almost the same speaker as the CS2 at a better price, but I would like to hear that from a disinterested party before I believe it. I've tried to find past threads on this question, but the only ones I saw tie the answer to the type of Polk main speakers. I don't have Polk mains. I currently have a pair of Large Advents as my mains and some inexpensive Onkyo speakers for the center and rears. I was also planning to add a PSW404 subwoofer to the system. My receiver is a Sony DA777, which gives me a lot of flexibility in playing around with the crossover frequencies if I need to change them to get the speakers to work together better. Does anyone have any advice on which would work better for me?

I own a CSi3 and it has a beautiful sound. I hear some old jazz and that kind of music, and the voices are incredible (i tell you this because your nick is "vintagelistener")

    welcome to the forums Vintage.

the sales guy is wrong, the cs2 and csi3 are two totally different speakers from two different lines. Get the csi3, and then upgrade to some RTI's for mains.

I agree with Andrew. Here in my country (ARgentina) RTi are very expensive, but I heard them and they are really great. I'm saving to buy them.

Thank you and gracias for your insights. It sounds like the consensus is to go with the CSi3. I wouln't mind upgrading my Advents to RTis in the future, although the Advents still sound pretty darn good. But then I might have to change my user name ;) .
