"new" LSi9?

Due to some WAF issues, I swapped out my cherry LSi9's for ebony (and they are gorgeous, and indeed look better in the living room).

The question is.......on the boxes I brought home there was a yellow sticker saying these are "new" LSi9's. I don't recall that sticker being on the cherry boxes. Is there some appreciable difference? Was there some kind of upgrade of the line that I missed? They sound wonderful (even out of the box) and I can't readily discern any difference.

Thanks!

There was a very minor version update. I know the wood panels are attached more carefully so there is no discernable seam between the speaker and the panel. I do not believe any change was made to the sound.

I dont think the LSic ever had wood panels, could be wrong

wood panels atached better, and no seem in the piano gloss around the face of the speaker either. sound is exactly the same, the "new" thing was all cosmetic

Also, the seams on the piano gloss sections are different- they're more rounded/ continuous on the new ones. On the LSi FX's, the dipole/bipole switch flipped sides.

    No.

It means that these are the new style... better gloss, better wood paneling (no panels on the LSiC obviously), better look.

They went to a painted gloss rather than laminate, so the edges are smoother and there aren't seams on the back on the speakers. That was when they went to the "fancier" cherry as well.

I got a pair of Lsi 9's the other day and saw this sticker ... are they still slapping them on or have my speaker sat on the shelf for four years ? :)

Not that it matters tho ...

It's nice to see that "new" in this case also means improved (cosmetcis) and not the opposite which was my first reaction ...
