Upgrading from S to LS, God Help Me

I think I want to upgrade from S to LS. Currently, I have a pair of S6's on top of a pair of PSW1200's, with S4's all around elsewhere. I am getting a CS350 from "Nadams" shortly, because I haven't been satisfied with the CS250, and would like to match the tri-lam in at least my front mains.

I like the pyramid look of the LS, and I would bet that they sound better (please advise). I am pretty heavily invested in the S series, though. I have 5.5 pairs of S4's (I used one of the S4 cabinets to house, quite attractively, one of my PSW1200 amps), one pair S6, and one pair S10. I also have two NOS SL 5000 tweeters in waiting. What to do with all this?

My S.O. is going to shoot me in the head, I know.

Cool, I just got an original CS center channel brochure in the mail. I'm also lusting after an S/LS series brochure on eBay at a buy it now price of 23.95. A little steep, I think, but I want it.

The LS 70s and 90s are nice Polks and a great match for the 350 center if you can still find them in good condition. Your question doesn't really differ from those trying today's lineup and wondering if it is worth the $$$ to go from R, to RTi, to LSi.

It is all a matter of audio taste and ability to pay. On wife approval, the number of speakers laying around is many times more of an issue than changing lines. Sell what you don't need to finance what you want.

So you think that I should skip the 50, and go to the 70? I figured that the real difference, especially for HT applications, would just be the bass output, and I have that covered with the subs. There is also the biamping difference, but I'd need to get another Yamaha receiver to do that, wouldn't I?

I have a 7.1 Yamaha receiver. Is it common to bi-amp all seven channels (or as many speakers that are bi-amp capable) with a second, perhaps differently rated receiver, that is connected to the primary receiver via the line in/out connections?

Biamping with receivers isn't really an option, or worth the effort. If you are using the setup mostly on HT duty, then I agree that the smaller speakers will do just fine. The 70s or 90s shine for 2 channel stereo used full range.
