Happy St. Patrick's Day!

As my name suggests, this is one of my favorite days of the year. Although the older I get, the less interested I am in heading out to the bars and celebrating. I think St. Patrick's day is one of the top 3 "amateur" nights (follwed by NYE and July 4th) for drinkers, so I try to keep off the roads. I am of Irish descent, but I always thinks it's funny to see all of the folks being "irish for a day".

Back when I lived in Tucson, we used to get up at 6:00 am and head down to a bar called the Green Dolphin for green beer and green eggs and ham. Talk about a hangover waiting to happen.

Looks like I will spend the night drinking a few harps, a few guiness, and watching Rattle and Hum and U2 "Home". Maybe I will put in "In the Name of the Father" just for kicks...

Have a great one!

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
    May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

    An Irish Blessing

    I've always loved this one...

Do any of the other Irish blokes on this site get sick and tired of hearing "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling". That song makes me want to hurl. Rebel songs all the way!

I agree that irishmen are an angry crazy bunch but how could anyone hate U2? Granted Bono gets a little full of himself and self important at times, but with albums like War, Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby and HTDAAB they are hard to top. Music is all subjective, I know, but how many bands can stack up to U2's contributions over he last 20 years.....Let me think....None.

Anyone that hates U2 has obviously never listened to Bad (Live). Wow....

every song sounds the same!!! with that **** boner crying out some self-important crap! effem! edge is a good guitarist, though. a little heavy with that echo effect. edge, the bass guy and the drummer would probably be good drinking partners...i'd probably kick boners ****...just for being boner....and the way he dressed at live aid....:D keep in mind i'm only stirring ****!;) :p:D

I liked U2 up until about Achtung Baby. Since then I'm alll set. This latest album makes me want to throw up. Just terrible.

Actually doin something for St Patty's today for once, mostly because it falls on a Friday. I'm not a lick Irish (mostly Italian, a little bit of English) so I usually ignore it... :)
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

SDA2 - Boner deserves to have his rear end handled to him. I saw them in concert in Phx. and although the music was top-notch, Bono was almost too much to bear. What gives these celebrities/actors/musician license to speak out on worldly affairs? Edge is very cool and Adam Clayton would have made a great wingman back in the day.

Bobman - I'm surprised to hear your take on HTDAAB. Being a life long U2 fan I immediately went out and bought the CD. The first few listens were less than appealing, but it just seemed to grow on me. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own and Miracle Drug are both great tunes. But...to each their own I guess. I also love All That You Can't Leave Behind. Walk On was another excellent song...
