I'm trying to decide if I should match the fronts & center using R15's or stick with the monitor 4's - http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/monitor4/

    I prefer the monitor 30 instead R15...

The speakers I'm talking about are older Monitor 4's not 40's.

I haven't been able to hear any R15's in person, they will be used for surrounds. The M4's are 91dB with a 6.5" woofer while the R15's are 5.25" woofer at 89db. I guess I should just buy the R15's next time they are on sale for $40 or I could sell the M4's and buy 2 pairs of R15's for 7.1. Some M4's just sold on ebay for $92.00 + shipping. The cherry 15's look much better than the M4's.

    M4 - Overall Frequency Response 35Hz-25kHz 91dB
    R15 - Overall Frequency Response 60Hz - 24kHz 89dB

Uhmmm...it looks like the R15 and the R50 have the same tweeter type, my friend....

    R50: http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/specs/r50/
    R30: http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/specs/r15/

Ergo, perfect match! I was referring to Bullshifters's set up - R50s.

This is true the R's aren't the best but for what I spent it can't be beat. The R50's replaced 2 sets of speakers, old 12" pioneer and old 10" technics Center was 2 JBL sat 2's replaced with CSi25. I really haven't spent a $1.00 of my own money, old audio equip and other old stuff sold on ebay brought in the money for R50, CSi25, and HK AVR 335. I still have 3 subs, 3 receivers, 1 CD player, & 4 pairs of speakers to sell. A good DVD player is next on my list, right now I'm using PS2 and an old Pioneer 6 disc changer.

I just got a pair cheap on ebay, cheaper than Fry's sale. If I don't like them I can sell them and still make a few bucks. That means the sub is next!:D

For the price, you really can't go wrong with any of the R-Series. I still get the WOW factor when people hear my budget-bangin' system. Enjoy 'em! I sure do!!

After having the R15's for a few days I'll say the R15's match the other speakers much better than the M4's. The M4's sound better for 2ch music. I paid a whopping $28.00 for these speakers. There was a receipt from Fry's in the box stating 3 pairs ordered at $39.99 each. With my shipping credit, $3.50 came out of my pocket for shipping.
