    P.S.
I still feel like a newb sometimes.
    I get offensive replies sometimes.
I pass on the retaliation posts often.
I just remember that this is the internet and there are all kinds of people here.
I will not let anyone get under my skin very far because it is only their opinion.
We all have opinions and we all have something else in common.

    Thick skin.

Have you ever introduced a new puppy to your old dog?
I just did this recently. We got a 4 month old yellow lab and brought her home to meet my 9 yo rott.
Needless to say my rott has put my puppy in check many times.
It is the nature of the beast.
The puppy just bounces back time after time.
The puppy has the thick skin that gets talked about here.
The old timers sometimes snap on the newbies but usually let them know why.
This is to help the newb assimilate. If the newb listens and responds in a proper fashion (ie. not cocky or arrogant) then they will learn a lesson.
I am sure sometimes the oldtimer has an attitude themselves but for the most part, if the regulars do not step in and straighten out the descrepancy the newb will never know how anoying they have been.
    Good analogy SKY,I"ll buy it.

    Tony,

If you can afford more current, ala, 14BSST, go for it. Yeah, *good* quality tubes like Cary on the high-end is almost a necessity!

Nice amp that 14BSST,alot of clams for it though. You have an opinion on the earthquake cinova ?I might just start with SS amp and later split to tubes on top.Gotta not give the wife a heart attack off the bat, know what I mean man.I will say for those in here who have not listened to tubes on a good rig, your doing yourself an injustice.I would go all tubes but don't think they can handle the bottom end for HT.Trying to make my rig do the double duty thing..music and HT.:D

Being new here as well I have come to the same conclusion on a lot of the points Tony elaborated on in his firs post.

The thing I think some people could learn around here is to not treat someone like a **** idiot right out of the box.

There are topics here that I really am an expert in but will not participate in discussion because there are some that have to go wielding their big e-dicks out in front of them like a midget carrying a 30' extension ladder. (Not to be offensive, just for a mental picture...) You can’t even tell some of them that they are wrong and teach them because they don’t know that they don’t know.

There is a wealth of knowledge here, but sometimes the arrogance is a little overbearing, but oh well...

Just a little rant of my own...

Cheers to all, even you stupid newbie’s

I kind of like the fact that people dont like me.

I dont mind answering some questions over and over...

But when people are asking... "Which is better, the RT800i or the RTi70 --- or which surround speakers are better?"

    Yeah, That gets old...

    EDIT -

When you guys start throwing out names like Buzzbait as an insult... a word that obviously means...nothing - Its a sign to me that this place really has gone down the crapshoot...

Otherwise, not worth my time - but seriously, that was a horrible name.

hehe... i'm actually fairly sure that this was not the intended meaning, but i googled it anyways, and i found this interpretation of 'buzzbait' - as a noisy fishing lure - quite amusing in the current context :p

other than that, i'm staying out of this...

But I do have a fat head.

I think that counts for a lot.

To quote the DI from "Full Metal Jacket",
