I recently developed an interest in home audio and I love the sound I get from my Polks but I can't seem to find much information on them. I have R2s for my fronts and R1s for my rears. Can anyone give me information about them? How old they are, what types of speakers are in them and what are their ranges? What center speaker would match these?

Thanks for the info. Do you know if there are any other models made in this series. Someone said they thought that R3s and R4s were made. Would you know anything about them?

I'm not familiar with other models in this series. Perhaps someone else will chime in if it is known.
The R1 and R2 show up on ebay now and then. There are two CS101's there right now. This would be the way to go if you want to have the original "package" of that era. The drivers used in that series are not published as far as I know and will be difficult to guess what other center to use short of contacting customer service.
If you like their sound, enjoy them. There are other models from that time and newer that you might check out. Craigslist.org is a good place to go bargain hunting.
