I bought this little wireless device and I have it plugged into an available input on my Yamaha HTR-5760. Sound quality is decent to good depending on whether I'm playing 128, 192, or 320 bit mp3's.

    The Good
Comes with its own music manager. There's a "Watch" feature that will keep an eye on all changes/updates on a folder in your pc. I have it monitoring my mp3 folder. Setup is simple. Playback is controlled by a remote. You can search via artists, albums, or playlists.

    The Bad
Wireless B only with WEP security. Unfortunately, I use WPA-PSK (more secure).
Screen is tiny. You will not be able to comfortably sit in your favorite chair and see the selections you're making from across the room. I guess you could sit the SLA5500NS next to you and run 50ft of RCA cables. Yuck.

    The Ugly
Resource hog on my PC (P4 Celeron 3.4Ghz with 1GB memory). Brought my pc to its knees. However, this could be due to the "Watch" feature trying to keep an eye on a 105GB folder. This may be resolved by stopping all monitoring of this folder and manually updating any changes made.

Overall: okay device. Discontinued. Fry's carries it for $50 (regular: $100) so you may want to pick one up and experiment. Cheap solution for streaming music to your hi-fi.

I removed it because I prefered attaching my mini-ipod to my receiver instead. No remote (didn't want to buy the ipod remote) but I usually hit shuffle and go on about my business.

My next project is to build a terabyte media file server and ripping my DVD's, CD's, and photos to it and using a modded Xbox connected to my A/V system in order to use menu's on my HDTV to select my entertainment. Still in planning/research stage and saving $$$. WAF is low because it sounds like too much work to her. What can I say? She married a gadget geek freak. :D

Will the 360 stream mp3's and vob's from a pc? I heard it will only connect to a PC with Windows Media Center but will only play WMA?

It will do mp3's and photos from a regular pc, and can do video from a pc with media center. I'm doing mine wirelessly and it works fine that way. I haven't played around with it a whole lot, but the interface seems a little clunky.
