Using 2 subs, placement?

I've been reading a lot about subwoofer placement, but really haven't found any good info on 2 subwoofer placement. My subs aren't the greatest and I'm not upgrading right now so lets skip all the SVS rec's. Right now I have them mono split off the LFE out. Seems if I run the 2nd sub off the other subs out the sound is not the same, even though they are identical. They sound great for 2ch music running off the receivers L/R outs, but not so much for movies. I've tried L/R corner placement, centered placement(about 3' apart - closest they can get), stacked center(straight/opposite angles), stacked corner, front/rear diagonal, front/rear facing each other. For each of the posistions there are good & bad points. The L/R corners seem the best location. Anybody else run 2 subs? How are they placed? When corner placement is used, what's the rec. for distances between walls and sub? I think they are tucked in a little to far, there's only a few inches to play with off each wall.
Thanks
Thanks

Most people like to find the best place for a single sub and just stack second on top of the first. Personally, if I had two identical subs I'd try using them in stereo. One sub behind the left front speaker, one behind the right, connected to left and right corresponding preouts.
The best way to find out what sounds the best is to play around with them as much as possible. -
Yeah, what Michael said. Otherwise, just use a single sub.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Stacked in the corner, more bass, less cancellation.

Like I said I tried them in every possible location and there are ups and downs with each location LFE and L/R outs. Just curious how others have their subs. I didn't like stacked corner because its too onvious where the bass is coming from.HK AVR 335

The corner loaded cylinder is about in the center of my soundstage behind the corner loaded entertainment center. I run them singly and paired(for HT). I prefer the Velo (slightly) for music. The Velo is borrowed and will be returned tomorrow, but there's a good chance I will replace it in either ebony or cherry. Having 2 powerful woofs that get to the mid-teens is very addicting.

I ended up stacked corner loaded, vary the distance between back wall and side wall if you do this.

After moving the subs all over I think I finally have it sounding right without spending a G for a sub. The first improvement consisted of a hockey puck cut in 4 pieces under each sub. Then I played with the height and angle of one sub til it improved. Even tried a downfiring placement. In the end I came up with this....2 pieces of hockey puck in the back and one full puck standing up in the front, LFE split AVR set to L/R+LFE, subs tucked tight in the corners. Pulling the subs out made too much boom.
