What to expect with new Carver AV405?

I'll be using my new HK 435 as a pre/pro. Will I notice any improvement at all with the Carver? I'm hoping for a sound that's a little punchier, more dynamic, and better controlled. Will I get any of those? Or should I have saved up for a better amp?
