I am the original owner of a Sony STR-DE605. Lightly used (never cranked up more than 45% level, as I live in a small apt). This thing weighs 22 lbs 7oz!! Massive heat sink through the center, and has large ventilation on top and bottom. This unit was never abused in any way. The front is in perfect condition. There is one scratch on the rear top, in the back, where no one would ever see it. I like this unit mostly because it has 2 switched power outlets on the back (new Sony units have only 1 outlet on the back). Here are the specs:
  • Front: 100W per channel
  • Center: 100W
  • Rear: 50W each
  • accepts 8 to 16 Ohms, although manual indicates it also can accept 4 Ohm speakers.
  • Motorized volume control w/ LED (I like this feature. Sony doesn't seem to put an LED on their volume control knobs anymore... sad.)
  • Pro Logic, Enhanced Pro Logic, Movie, Music, Sports, Game modes
  • Includes remote (with Batteries)
  • Includes manual

It is very heavy and shipping will probably cost $30.
I would like to sell it for $30.
So, total cost would be $60.

This is a very good unit and was never abused. It is not dusty, dirty, or compromised in any way. I was keeping it to put out in a garage someday. It has the A or B or A+B speaker switch: I was planning to put 1 speaker in 4 corners of the garage and then crank them all up. But, I never got that garage, and time has passed away... so, here it is for sale for you!

Thanks for reading!

Google is a good search engine . . . aside from it has no time constraints.

The most telling thing about this thread?....he didn't have a reply until over a year later.

The Flea Market is policed very well, always has been but don't ever forget "Buyer Beware".
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
