Has anyone driven or even had a ride in one of these??? My friend is ready to buy one. They look cool but I wonder about the safety, resale and general saneness of this type of purchase. This is not the exact one but very close.

Any comments?

if it is a 427 cobra it is worth a mint if it is a copy it is with a big block it is worth 30k but all it is a huge engine in a go cart

They topped out at around 222MPH. Very fast, stylish, unsafe, and impractical. Everything a guy could want. I've heard they handle well for the time period, but poorly compared to today's cars.

Yeah, a mint original can fetch $350-400,000. The kits are much more reasonable and repairable.

A real 427 Cobra will go for $250,000 or so in poor to average shape and one in mint condition would probably be $350,000+. The on one Ebay is just kit car with a Ford 302. It should run pretty good since it is very lightweight and a built 302 is no slouch. I would NEVER buy a kitcar from an individual unless knew who built it (and only then if it was a well known builder). The quality of the kitcars varies from very poor to very good and your friend needs to do a lot of research before he buys one. Don't expect the resale value to hold at all.
