Are there any other F1 fans out there (besides you F1Nut;)) that were as confused as I was at this new quali format? Even the the announcers were saying then retracting things... I like the new format, but I'm going to have to watch a few more of them before I'll understand it. Too bad Kimi went out and suffered that huge failure. :mad:

Looks like M. Schumacher is back on the pace when he tied Senna's 65th career pole. :)

    They're going to keep effing with the format until they (Max Mosley) ruin the sport!

    Exactly why this year i've not kept up with F1 at all. I understand the rules laying down parameters for the car and having the engineers whip up a package within those confines but last years qualifying rules, IMO, signal the beginning of the end.

    Good race between M Schumacher and Alonso (the eventual winner), though the drive-of-the-day beonged to Raikkonen: started 22nd and finished 3rd. :D

    Honda drivers Barrichello and Button battled each other real hard, and America's first F1 driver in 13 years finished 13th in front of both Toyotas. Williams looked very strong and the Red Bull teams ended up right in the middle of the pack, not bad considering they used to be Jaguar and Minardi.

    Looks like it's going to be a great season! :D

    I think most of the rule changes for the '06 season are a step in the right direction.

    How about those diesels in LeMans???

    Nico had the fastest lap of all with 1m 32.408s. Even though all the drivers know what place they came in, they also want to know who had fastest lap. Good on the rookie!:D

    I think so too.

    I'm taking the conspiracy theory angle here, but I’m thinking the 2005 season rules were made to bump Ferrari off the top and give someone else a chance. I’m also thinking that Ferrari was in on it too – how else can you dominate the 2004 season (15 of 18 races) and then come back so far off the pace the next year that you cut your constructor points from 262 to 100?:confused:

    They seem to be trying to do the same thing to NASCAR. Theyre trying to sugar coat it and make it appeal to everybody and its starting to suck.

    What's with NASCAR drivers purposefully taking each other out and throwing helmets?

    The goofiest driver out there right now in F1 is Takuma Sato, that guy has taken out more cars than a demolition derby.

    NASCAR needs to wipe the slate clean and start over with totally new cars, not the "car of tomorrow", TOTALY new.

    There was a time when NASCAR was used to profile a manufactures design potential but that has been gone since the late 70's.

    Actually, he is a German AND a Finn, dual citizenship. His dad, 1982 World Champion Keijo Rosberg, is a Finn and his mom is German. He had the choice under which flag he would race and I guess under German flag you have a bigger possible fan base although Finns are respected over there quite well too.

    He has raced under Finnish flag as well.
