Just "upgraded" my Earthlink Mailbox program and now whenever I click on an e-mail link, it launches a new IE window.

Previously it used whatever was the last active window. Much faster... much preferred...

I've:
  1. Looked through IE settings - "I see nothing (at least that I can recognize)"
  2. Looked through my Mailbox settings - bupkis
  3. Called Earthlink - nada
  4. Searched MS - zilch (at least for free)

Little help???
More later,

Could be wrong about what you're asking, but if it's what I think it is....

In IE goto Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Check box that says 'Reuse Windows for Launching Shortcuts' > Click Apply > Click OK

Thanks, I had missed seeing that one, but it was already checked. Just for grins I "unchecked/ applied" and then "rechecked/ applied"...

Still the same. Launching new windows... :(

    1. Download Firefox
    2. Set as default.
    3. Profit!

    :)

Seriously though, it may be a setting in your email client.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

LOL... last thing I wnat is more software...

Most likely, you're correct. I've just written Earthlink about the problem as the issue may be my Phillipino(?) is too weak.

Another question might be why does clicking on an email link open IE? Shouldn't it be opening your default mail program (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc)? Something else weird here...

I think he meant an internet link contained in an email.... that's how I interpreted it. Otherwise it makes no sense.

    Yup, imbedded links...

I often make no sense, but somehow bobman understands me... as he did this time. ;)
