    Unfortunately, not.
I play in a local band... and, the new rule is that if
you don't show up for practice that week, you don't
get to play in the performance that weekend (i.e.
    you don't get paid).

The real kicker is that Castleton Ovation is only
a mile away from my work. This is the very same
Ovation that I purchased my Polk SDA SRS3.1TL's
    back in 1991.

Ya know, this store (Ovation) is alright. But, I was looking at some Thiel speakers and Krell amps there about a year ago.
Would you believe that the very same salesman who
sold me my special-order 3.1's had the nerve to badmouth my old
3.1's as being "low tech, not very good" speakers.

He went so far as to even say that there really isn't
anything special about polk and that their bigger speakers
are identical to the smaller ones except there are more
    mediocre drivers.

Now, granted, Polk's aren't Thiels. But, to bad mouth a speaker that you yourself earned a big sales commission a decade ago was absolutely rediculous.

Trust me... Ovation doesn't push Polks. The new LSi15s are in the mass-speaker display room with the low budget receivers rather than setup nice with good amplification. The LSi F/X speakers were setup on a shelf among bose surround cubes.

Ovation will take in used speakers. My like-new $2000 3.1's (in 1991) would bring only a $300 trade in 2001. This is a far cry from what used SDA's sell for on e-bay.

Well, Ovation ain't that great. Polk deserves better in Indiana.
It was probably better that I didn't go there and cause a scene.

I'm telling you....BRING MATT TO CHARLESTON!!

I guarantee that I will have him and his entourage literally surrounded by a bevy of scantily clad beauties with , for lack of a better term, relaxed inhibitions.

In exchange all I would ask is a friggin dealer within a reasonable distance where I could get my demo on.

    Hey Micah,

Why don't you start a new forum where you could ask Matt a question? The man is probably busy, so maybe this could be a once or twice a month event. Questions could be submitted and drawn from a pool. You guys pick out the best question, e-mail it to him and you could post the questions and his replies. You could also drag Paul into this if Matt is unavailable. The People in this forum have allot of great and intelligent questions going through some of these threads. So why not tap into some of them. It's nice he's out promoting his new lineup; maybe he could spread a little of his time this way.

I agree. The question he should respond to is whether the company will make a flagship sub, or, as this guy put it best "are you going to make US look at non-polk companies to get a sub that hits hard and deep.
    rskarvan"
I mean..come on. It's not like the guys at Polk don't have the KNOW HOW to make an incredibly functional yet *rattle the change in your pockets......eviction notice* level, sub.
Will it be something along the style of the lsi, perhaps?

    Inquiring minds want to know...

I have no doubt that Polk could do it.......I'm positive of it in fact. Would people buy it? That's a different story. When folks think of high-quality subs ie. Servo-15, they don't think Polk, even the PSW1200.....So at this point, I don't think it would make much sense. However, if the LSi sways a new legion of Polk listeners, then yes, an LSi sub could be a possibility.

While I agree with everything you said, I think that having such a sub now would make it easier to bring people over to the LSi line. For a customer looking for a complete, fairly high-end system, the LSi line will probably meet their needs.....except for the subwoofer. This is clearly the weak point of the product line, and it may sway people to another company that offers a complete line (with a quality sub).

Well, just don't make a huge batch of the subs. Make them club exclusive or something. The ones that get out there will speak for themselves and do their own advertising.
They could do a style of sub that would look incredible in any system....and perhaps reach a broader market. Or do a lsi exclusive sub *which would look incredible..you know it*
The overhead might be too much to do such a small amount though.

The Sub would have to be so sweet it would also have to complement the LSi 25's. Otherwise people would just buy the 9's or 15's with the sub. Marketing is such a Beotch!
