I'm annoyed that they put the record-setting temperature in Fahrenheit and the entire rest of the article in Kelvin.

FYI, 3.6 Billion degrees F = 2 Billion Kelvin. Hot.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

    My favorite line:

They don't know how they did it.

Thanks, guy. It's great to know that you're creating temps hotter than the SUN, but you have no idea HOW you're doing it. Keep up the good work. :p

Wow. That's interesting. Hotter than the sun? And they don't know how they did it. And the 'Z Machine' was putting out MORE energy than they fed it.

    Interesting.

    That caught my attention too.

I can just see the scene with some janitor over in the corner trying to act inconspicuous while all the scientist are in a huddle asking each other:

"Did you touch any of the switches on the machine?"

    "NO...did you?"

"NO...well somebody MUST have done something!"

Can't they set the atmosphere ablaze doing **** like this???;) :D:D

Another thing is.. how were they able to contain that type of heat. At temperatures that high, I would have thought that we don't have ANYTHING that can withstand that, even if just for a few seconds.

What sparks my imagination is that you get more energy out than you actually put in.

I can see the storyline now: Scientists produce 3.6 billion degree fahrenhiet temperatures. However, they couldn't duplicate the results because their facilities immediately disintegrated.

naw, I think they used a radio shack meter. I am still trying to figure out how they contained all that heat without the container melting/vanishing, I think they just might think about using the same stuff on the bottom of the space shuttle, or maybe I am missing something here. Maybe its a hoax.
