seriously dude, with that list of equipment that you "supposedly" have, you don't know how to hook up a "basic" sub to a receiver? use the sub pre-out and set your mains to large. or you could hook to the front left and right main pre-outs and set your sub setting to "none." experiement and see which gives you the best performance.

anyone who says they macintosh should know how to do this. just my .02...

Yes Dude, I have had all my equipment in stereo stuff, for your information 901's don't need a woofer, the other sytem is Olympus speakers which also don't use a woofer, the garage stuff has a woofer that is the speaker connection set-up. The new Home theater thing is totally separate and my first experience using a "woofer" with a single "woofer" RCA plug on the HTR unit, my instructions with the Yamaha did not show using a splitter for the woofer single outlet, so I figured I would throw the question out as I didn't want to use the speaker set-up for other reasons. So thanks for the re-affirming the correct set-up. For further info I have DSP units wired into the systems with the Mac's so I can create different arenas of sound. Ciao, Bill;)
