Anyone remember him? He was a radio news commentary guy from, I believe it spanned, the 70's and 80's. I used to listen to him on the radio many many moons ago. The guy had the best news stories with the best delivery. Total classic talk radio.

I'll have to do a search this evening to see what ever became of him.

This is Paul Harvey...good day. ;)
No excuses!

He is still "on air" everyday, twice daily, here on San Francisco's ABC-affiliated news talk radio station.

And that's....the rest of the story. ;)

Paul Harvey has been more popular in the 90s and 00s than he was in the 70s and 80s.

That man has sold more Bose Wave Radios to clueless senior citizens than anyone. He is a nemesis to true audio.

I'm sure he feels bad for doing so all the way to the bank.

I doubt it, I lost some respect for him when I realized he would hawk anything as long as they paid the dollars.

We actually have a Paul Harvery imitator who hawks cars on a local radio station hear. I really used to like his "rest of the story" tales.

I can't stand that guy. His delivery annoys the hell out of me. He'll pause for 30 seconds in between a sentence but go from one story to the next as if it was one thought. Not to mention his letters about the Wave Radio...

"I have here another letter from a deaf 95 year old in Florida. She says that she hasn't been able to hear a thing since the 70's. Now with her wave radio she can enjoy high fidelity music once again. Thanks Bose."

SHE'S OLD AND DEAF! SHUT THE HELL UP! Who honestly listens to him and says "Wow, she really said it sounds just like the Grand Ol' Opery? I'll have to order one! I mean who could tell a 90 year old lady she's wrong?" Gee, anyone with a clue... God I hate Paul Harvey.
Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

    I've always liked Paul Harvey.

It ain't FREE RADIO...somebody has to pay the bills. Maybe he thinks it's good...who cares...it is an advertisement. No different from any other "celebrity" selling anything/everthing.

His stories while entertaining IMO, are often "embellished"...but they are still better than most of what you hear on the radio. I'll take Harvey over that **** Stern anytime.

    Paul Harvey is the MAN.

If Bose paid me what they pay Paul Harvey, I'd hawk 'em too.

Coast to Coast...baby!!!:D . I really wish Art would come out of retirement. George Nori is alright, but Art Bell is the best. In my area I only can get Art on Sunday nights. Friday and Saturday are all sports talk. Mon-Thur is George Nori.

I'm thinking perhaps since Art's wife passed recently he may come back. Did anyone hear his broadcast when he was telling the story of the passing of his wife? I choked up a couple times just listening to him recount the events.

I grew up on Paul Harvey and he certainly has his place. I wish he'd shut the hell up about the Wave Radio. I listen every morning when he comes on, and I swear he's brain washed me into buying a Wave Radio, just by the repetitions I've heard all these years.

Why do you think Bose pays him the "big bucks"? ;)

H9 - George is ok....just not the same. I still download the shows for some mental stimulation.

It's nice to see a couple people who recognize those names :D

Coast to Coast comes on about 11 pm in my area and it runs until 3 am. I can't sleep with complete silence so I turn on the clock radio and listen until I doze off. If it's a particuliarly good topic, I usually stay awake for awhile. I've often thought of DL'ing some of the shows, but I just don't always have the idle time to listen.

P.s. Anybody listen to Bruce Williams another late night syndicated talk show. He's not on in my area anymore.
