Bridged Amps - Monitor 10s

Hi,

Just wondering... Is anyone using (or has anyone tried) bridged amps with their monitor 10s? Any stressing out with impedance?

I hopefully have a pair of hafler 9180's heading my way with the hope of using them as monoblocks. (now I'm thinking I should have just picked up a bigger amp)... Probably will be just fine, but after reading about how bridging cuts impedance in half... got a bit nervous.

Funny thing, as with an earlier thread that I had started, I just recently saw that hafler (and fosgate) studio monitors build light bulbs right into their crossovers for protection. I've gotta try it. Probably in the 150w range.

Curious.

There are others around with better knowledge than me, however I can't recall anyone mentioning any impedenace issues with the Monitor 10's. I'd say unless someone comes up witha major red flag, do it to it! :D

If the impedence of your speakers is less than 8 ohms, I wouldn't advise it.

I ran a pair of Rotel RB-960BX bridged mono on Monitor 7a's for a while, with outstanding results. You don't have much to worry about with 10's as far as impedance dips, rock on.

Thanks. Will give it a go.

Probably the amps will just become extra hot space heaters. I'm going to be frying once summer comes.

Hoping I get the amps soon... Wishing people closer around my area would ask fair prices for gear.
