Purchasing Speaker Wire . . . ? ?
Hello all, I browse the threads a while back and I seen this online store that sold speaker wire and accessories or all type for A/V. I thought i had bookmarked the website . . . but not, that was just my thinking. Could someone please direct me any or several recommended online stores for DIY'ers.
Thanks - Hap

What gauge would you recommend for a pair of rti4's? Would normal 16 be ok or should I play it safe and go 12?Ghetto Rig

That's a loaded question.
I would go with what fits your wallet. It's just a suggestion.

It just comes down to a cost perspective. Personally I would go with 12ga. and just not worry about it. the 12 guage from blue jeans cable is .39/foot (and is in-wall rated if that is needed). If you do not need inwall cable, lowes, home depot, or parts express sells 12 guage cable in bulk and you should be able to get 200' of it for around $50.
If you can swing the cost of the 12 guage, buy it and don't worry about it any more. When you get your system set up and want to start tweaking things, buy some more expensive cable and see if you hear a difference. When you are first setting it up though - I would get decent but not exotic cable.
BTW - I only mentioned blue jeans cable because that is what I have used and know about. Many of the other brands mentioned should be checked out as well.....

I'm a fan of monoprice.com, I got a great deal on a 50 ft component cable for my SP4805 projector. I don't think they have speaker wire yet, but the prices for other a/v cables are tough to beat. No, I don't work for them...:)Front: Mirage Omnisats

Sub: Mirage Omni S8 (rockin' little 8 incher!)
