Speaker wire quiestion?

I am replacing my speaker wire from 16 to 14awg. The wire I purchased does not clearly mark which side is positive and which side is negative. I am assuming the side with the writing is positive and the side that is blank is negative. Is this correct? Do you think I will hear any difference in my speakers or will I just convince myself there is a difference because of all the time and money? I would imagine that if I am going to hear a difference it will be when I do my rears since they are a much longer run. Thank you for all your help.

Just make sure that you match from the amp,to the speaks,EX: wire with lettering (pos from amp--to pos. to speaks), red= red,,black= black:)JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)
