What a shame. He was a total baseball stud.

Very sad! He's one of my alltime favorite players. I hated when he had to give up the game because of his failing vision.

    RIP Kirby.
    No excuses!

Bob Costas had a bet with Kirby Puckett that he would name his son Kirby if he won the batting title. Well, he did, and Costas gave his son the middle name of Kirby. What a welch!

Ah well, sucks to hear this news. He didn't do so well after baseball, unfortunately.

Hell, even Yanni is up on Dosmetic Violence charges. And let's not forget that Kirby was acquited.

Until I watched today's SC tribute, I'd forgotten just how impressive a career he had...

    RIP, Mr. Puckett.
    More later,

as a life-long Atlanta Braves fan, it is hard to forget Kirby's momentous game-winning home run which won game six in the '91 series (a match-up featuring the very first "worst to first" teams in baseball history, and arguably, the most hotly contested in the last twenty years)
he was a class-act, who went against the grain of the stereotypical athletic mold (i.e. slightly overweight, fun-loving and always with a smile, and incredibly loyal to his one team)
trust me... you won't find many of his ilk running around the majors these days
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
