In fact, these awards shows in generally piss me off and always have
Granted, movies music and sports are an important part of our society, but in the end are non-essential services. Where's the awards show for our firefighters, or heroes who have died in combat, or our scientists who are changing the way we live as a society...

and yes, Jessica Alba is hot!
what about those overpaid athletes? making millions of dollars. they have their own awards show too.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert  -
I'm pretty sure he included them in his rant when he said:Granted, movies music and sports are an important part of our society, but in the end are non-essential services.
I agree that it's a waste of time in the grand scheme of things. The only movie that I think was worthy of being up for best picture was Walk the Line. What do I know though, I am just part of middle America. Even though the others couldn't even beat Cheaper by the Dozen: 2 in the box office. -
I don't worship any of those overpaid goofballs. If someone wanted to pay me several million $$$ to get in front of the camera and act, damn right I'm taking it! Just like athletes, if I could whack 30+ homers, hit .300 and they offered to pay me $5mil a year to do so, F-ing aye right i'm doing it!
Fans that worship them and shell out gobs of $$$ are the ones keeping them in business. We're all guilty too. We buy those DVD's everytime a good one gets released. If nobody went to the theaters and nobody bought DVDs, they would be S.O.L.
I still want to knock the bottom out of Nicole Kidman and Jessica Alba cause I do worship a hot piece of arse!No excuses! -

Blame the idiots in America for good movies getting mediocre box office sales
Then blame the movie studios for putting out rehacked crap.Brian Knauss

i miss old-hollywood. back when we actually had movie studios; and not movie corporations.
