I buddy of mine is doing a 7.1 inwall home theater system and I recommeneded the LC265i. Would those work out well in a 7.1 system? My concern is since they are not a dipole the direct sound wont give him the proper affect. his room is 17x22 if that helps with 10ft ceilings. Also does anyone know of a store in St. Louis that would sell these.

I think they would be great for a 7.1 system. I don't know of a store in St. Louis that stocks them, but you can order them at American. I'm not living down there anymore, but I can give you the names of a couple good fellows that I worked with there. If just the Polk speakers are ordered, they'd probably have to follow Polk's pricing procedures, but if it is with receiver, tv, etc, then they could do a package price.

I don't have much experience with them personally. Maybe one of the LCi owners can chime in here.

Just a warning, those are 4 Ohm, so he's going to probably need spereates to drive them- especailly if he's going 7.1.

There not designed to be side surrounds with the bipole/dipole switch so he would be losing a bit there. Fronts and backs would work, but remember, once installed not much tweaking with moving them around.

Im looking to basically the same setup, but was thinking of using LC65i for surrounds and rears. What does UNC mean by 'seperates'??

Pre amp/ amp combo insead of an AVR(yamaha, onkyo, denon, HK, etc)

BAsically, all those avrs are designed to drive 6-8 ohm loads... Since they only have one power supply, them more speakers you put on them the worse the situation gets. With LSi's (basically the same load as the LC265i's) I was tripping the thermal overload on my 120 watt yamaha all the time- even with jsut a pair of LSi25's I could set it off.
