What are your top 5 Vampire flicks of all time?

Mine are:

1-"Underworld"
2-"Interview With A Vampire"
3-"Near Dark" (my favorite part is in the bar when Bill Paxson's character say's "finger lickin good":D
4-Bram Stoker's "Dracula"
5-"Blade"

I haven't seen the new Underworld, so I can't put it on my list yet, but I'd have to assume that it'll be taking it's place in their somewhere.

Honorable mentions go to "Queen of the Damned" and "Blade II".

I love vampire stuff. Ive always been facinated with them and love most stories/movies about them. Unfortunately most usually arent.

Underworld and Underworld 2 are great cause Im head over heels in love with Kate Beckinsale. Plus its got some cool vampire stuff in them.

Van Helsing I really like as well, although I think Im the only one that did. First off, Kate. Second, the guy that played Dracula did a really good job. Even tho he was only 5'2" he was still cool. Plus the way they made the vampires look was really cool.

Blade 1 & 2 are just awesome. Always been a Wesley Snipes fan and he was great in these. Blade 3 sucked really REALLY bad.

Interview with a Vampire was cool because of Cruise and Pitt. Im a big Brad Pitt fan and thought he did great in this.

Bram Stokers Dracula was great but a little too dark (in a depressing way) for me. The end was also stupid. Theyre racing along the revine trying to beat sundown lest Dracula break out and open up a can of whoop ****. Well the sun goes down, Dracula breaks out of his crate and.......some hillbilly walks up and cuts his throat......huh? Thats it?!?!?!? Ugh.

I also really like the old tv show Forever Knight. Its a Canadian made series so its cheesy and corny as hell but its still cool.

    Bottom line tho, Kate RULES!

The original with Bela. Not a note of music on the soundtrack after the opening credits. They don't do that anymore cause they don't make movies that are good enough to hold your attention without special effects.

    Nosferatu
    The Hunger
    Underworld
From Dusk 'Til Dawn (come on, it was fun)
    Blade
Interview with the Vampire was pretty fair also. Haven't seen the new Underworld. Blade II and III sucked, IMO.

Are those Kate's real ones or are they fake? Funny stuff.

I love all the vampire goodies mentioned above too. Never cared for the Frankenstein or Werewolf ones (American Werewolf in London being the exception), but I always love watching a good and even some bad vampire flicks.

May be stretching the thread intent a tad, but there's a movie about the making of "Nosferatu". Name escapes me, but it had a lot going for it...

In the mainstream Underworld and Lost Boys spring to mind.

    Underworld

From Dusk To Dawn (the whole series, the 1st was the most entertaining)

Shadow of The Vampire (Willem Dafoe's make-up was extraordinary as was his portrail of the character Max Schreck) John Malkevich was in it as well. A very weird old school Vampire movie. From a pure theatrical POV this is a great movie. You have to be pretty well versed in old style vampire/horror movies to really appreciate the quirkiness of this movie. Simply an excellent period piece, funny as hell too.

    E. Elias Mehrige's SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE explores the fictional premise that the star of director F.W. Murnau's 1922 German expressionist horror film, NOSFERATU, was an actual vampire. When the dictatorial Murnau (John Malkovich) sets about filming his monster masterpiece, he makes a Faustian deal and enlists the grotesque, reclusive Max Schreck (Willem Dafoe) to play the rodentlike Count Orlok. Schreck proceeds to both horrify and fascinate the unwitting cast and crew---including producer Albin Grau (Udo Kier), actor Gustav von Wangenheim (Eddie Izzard), and actress Greta Schroeder (Catherine McCormack)--who, at first, believe Schreck is merely an eccentric actor. As the production continues, however, mysterious accidents and deaths begin to reveal why Schreck never gets any makeup. From its lavish opening sequence to Murnau's filming of the final scene, Mehrige's movie serves as a tribute not only to the original NOSFERATU but to the art of cinema itself. Because Murnau's project is a silent film, the overbearing director can coax and shout at his actors during the takes, making for some cleverly comical scenes. Although Malkovich, Izzard, and Kier are excellent in their roles, SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE could simply not exist without Dafoe's hideous and hilarious performance, which ranks among the finest of the versatile actor's career.

OK, but I'm warning you the kids and the wife won't like it. It's basically a silent type B & W film and you have to pay attention. No special effects, no soundtrack, sporadic dialouge. The filming style, actors movements and expressions are what makes the film. Willem DaFoe is just remarkable. I think you'll enjoy it, but it's quite strange compared to today's blockbuster special effects. Think Ed Wood style, only better. I may rent it again this weekend as I haven't seen it since it came out. It's supposed to rain thru the weekend here in Illinois. Good movie weekend. :)
