LSI9 speakers

Help, I'm new at this.
I just bought the LSI15, LSIC, LSI9's and PSW1000 sub. My problem right now is my stands for the LSI9's have a 4" square plate on the top with holes to screw them on to the speakers. Is there an alternative way to mount the speakers on the stands. Right now they are just sitting on top of the stands but I'm afraid they may fall off and I don't like the idea of putting screws into my new speakers. Any ideas????? What does everyone else do????

I had stands like that too, although they didn't screw in. They had a little tiny quarter inch thick top plate that would have been pretty bad. I just unscrewed the top plate from the rest of the stand and cut a piece of 3/4" mdf that fit my 7's perfectly and while I was at it I closed off the back of the stands and filled them with sand. They went from about 5 pounds each to 25. I still havn't painted the mdf but they seem to work quite nicely now.

This might not work for you if your stands are metal... maybe post a pic of your stands so we might be able to help you modify them? The 9's are pretty deep so the 4" plate is obviously too small...

I hesitated with my satellites but ultimately stuck some of that double sided white adhesive foam on the stands to stick the speakers in place.

Use a small piece on each corner of the cabinet to balance the height, it holds much better than you might think. My satellites are up on a 1.5" square on a 40" stand and they've held up to a few small children collisions so far.

The down side of course is that they will leave a gummy spot that you'll have to work at a bit with some oil to remove later on.

Thanks all for the help;
I was thinking of cutting some plywood almost the size of the LSI9 base and **** that on to the stands. Will see if I can find some Blu-tack to stick the speakers on to the plywood.
Another question, I'm planning on getting Outlaw 990 pre and 7500 amp to run this set up. Anyone out there using Outlaw equipt. to drive Polk speakers. How does it work?? The 990 is for a 7.1 set up and I'll only have a 5.1/// Any problems??

Any decent pre-pro , when you shut off the speaker channels you don't have connected or it auto-senses they aren't there during setup, it will adjust for the remaining speakers.

My H/K figured out I had 3.1 and from what the manual tells me, in Logic 7 modes it matrixes in the content from the missing channels. Sounds pretty good to me so far.

Also with the 7.1 my HK has, I can run 5.1 (most I intend) and use the remaining 2 for Zone 2 audio where I could send say FM radio while watching a movie in the other room in 5.1.

I don't own Outlaw, it was simply out of my budget at the time. I would have bought an Outlaw setup had I had the cash. The reviews are consistently excellent when compared to anything close in price.

They are at the top of my list for an amp should I decide I want more power than my HK puts out...if I go LSi eventually.
