Good Deal, I really believe your in for a nice treat, now it will be easy to put the juice to her and wake the neighbors up so you have to watch it but all that power is going to do you well at low volume when the transients come in, Parasound amps are noted for excellent bass extension.

Snap some pics if you can, we love that stuff.

Way to go!!! I wish things worked out with that good of timing for me. Seems like everytime I'm looking for a good deal I find out I just missed it.

Anyway....Looking forward to hearing your comments on the Amp. I think you will be very happy with it! I know I am with mine!

Yeah Dave, the timing couldn't have been any better. I wasn't ready to buy an amp so soon, but didn't want to pass up a deal like this. I'm pretty excited to hear the difference. I'm hoping low level listening will be more rewarding. I'll send some pics when Its all hooked up.:)

Could you guys throw out some brands of interconnects to check out. I've checked out Zebra and Blue Jeans cable so far, but was just curious about what others use.

Those are both spoken of favorably around here.

Some others are: Kimber, Transparent, Audio Quest.
I personally am currently using some DIYs, but I'm about to check out the AQ Jaguars due to another members positive comments.

About the only ones I hear negative comments are Monster.

I have 2 pairs of audioquest sidewinder interconnects ordered. One .5m for CDP to Pre; and 1m from preamp to poweramp.:D This is turning into an obsession. But I should be rid of the bug after this...

    CBL,

This hobby can grab hold you with a death grip. You appear to be on your way to full blown addiction.

Just enjoy, it can be a rather strange path at times. Get to know your rig, kick the tires so to speak, get a scratch on something, you have to live with gear for a while, the upgrades will come as you are ready, you are off to a great start.

Congrats!!! Nice looking system. Just curious... how close are your 15s to the front wall? From the pictures they look pretty close. You might want to try pulling them out to about 2 feet off the wall if you can. Might just be a deceiving photo.

Anyway, glad to hear you like the amp.

    Enjoy!

They're about a foot away from the front wall. I'd like to move them away another foot, but if I did they would kinda be in the way of traffic.

The amp added low end response and seemed to make the soundstage sound as if the musicians are in my living room. I guess you could say it "opened" the soundstage up a lot.

The AQ sidewinders are between the cdp-to-preamp as well as preamp-to-amp. They did a lot more to the sound than I had imagined. Basically they made the overall sound louder and clearer.

    EDIT********
I did move them away from the front wall. There about a 1.5 ft away.

Very hansome looking set-up, watch the ventilation on the amp, you might need to blow a little air in there.

Definete good looking setup, smoking jacket time, contact Doro and F1nut for a proper Jacket and Mohageny pipe.

Looks like a great system all the way around! And that was scertainly a great price on the amp!

Out of curiousity, what is that silver piece above your Sony CDP? A DVDP?

LOL,, Smoking Jacket Time, is critical listening, no other noises or distractions, lights down, you put on your best Jacket (like going to some fancy mens club haunt not some titty bar) then you light up your pipe with fine tobacco and sit there puffing and acting all condesending making little noises of approval which nobody knows what the hell your approving of but just nod along with you, you can put your nose in the air if you like enjoying your music and how great your system sounds.

Get it, Smoking Jacket Time!!:D BTW you dont really need the jacket and pipe, a cold beer or ice tea does just as good!!! Its just your time with your rig and nothing else.
