Some one suggested using this filter to stop interferrance in my TV and audio system. Does any one have any experience using them and where do you buy them? There are soooo many to choose from when i did a google search that I'm very confused.

Thanks for any help.

Are you experiencing problems that you believe are EMI induced, or are you just trying to get the best picture you can?

I have static lines on my picture that come and go. Part of the problem was a battery charger for a cordless drill. When that was unplugged the picture improved by a large amount, but I still have some intermittent noise.

    Dedicated line.

Before you start buying filters I would spend some more time trying to find the source of the problem. Maybe start unplugging non A/V related equipment and see if any one item, or combination of items reduces or eliminates the static.

If you cannot eliminate it that way I personally would try a power strip such as a Monster Power HT800 or higher, just as long as it has what they call "Clean Power". In most situations this should eliminate your problems.

Of course what F1Nut recommended is ideal. It's better to not have noise in the line at all, rather than trying to filter a dirty line. But it's not always easy or cheap to run a dedicated line.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for all your suggestions.

Well I have tried most your suggestions however. I just moved into a new home and found this interferance problem. I have two new dedicated power lines for home theater. And I have a monster power conditioner, not sure of model. And I have a 20 pound isolation transformer also connected up. The main source of this electric static was from my battery charger for a cordless drill in the garage. I have two drills and one of them produces the static.

Some one suggested an EMI filter and I bought one to be delivered in a few days. I'll let you know if it works.
