speaker configuration?
I'm rebuilding my home theater system and have a question, my front channels are rt1000p and cs1000. I have a set of rt/fx 500's and a set of rt35's (Im going to 7.1) Should I put the 500's in the rear or on the side??????
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

I personally prefer my FX's on the sides. if you have the availability.. try both locations. then decide.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I don't have FX's...but any surround speaker is better on the side than rear.My current new system (step by step )
A/V Receiver: YAMAHA RX-V657
DVD Player: YAMAHA DVD-S657

My question is in a 7.1 system should I put the 500's on the sides and the
rt35's in the rear or vise versa? -
i would put the 500's on the sides. and the rt35's on the rear. there isn't much software that utilizes the rear channels. so putting the 500's in the rear would be a waste of a good speaker in my opinion. put them on the sides for best useage.
seems like you are unsure of what to do. i say put them on the side.. but it's up to you. do what you feel is right.

If your main interest is movies put the 500's on the sides and the RT35's in the rear.
If your main interest is multi-channel music I would put the 35's in the back/side and forgo the 500's all together.Proud SOPA Member since 2005!
