I just finished all my purchasing. I am very happy with my setup EXCEPT the PSW505. Its a HT in a 13x14 foot room 8 feet tall. The back end of the room is open (where i sit). I am running a Pioneer VSX-1015TX reciever with RTi8, FXi3, RTi4, CSi5 and the PSW505. The rest of the system rocks. Loud, clean, awsome. I want the base to BEAT ME UP. Please recommend a solid sub that will go LOW and LOUD... that is what i want to make me happy !! My older PSW350 sounds just as good as the 505!! Dont get me wrong, it great for the money, but i want to shatter windows. THANKS IN ADVANCE FROM A NEW POLK FAN!!!

I will caution that if you like "hot" boomy bass in the 50-60hz range, you may not find enough punch in the SVS. They deliver super clean undistorted deep bass that is great for HT, but some prefer a hotter midbass region for their music and find SVS lacking in that type of bass. SVS will break windows, but at 15-30hz where no small Polk sub has ever gone.
The PSW 1200 does go deeper than any Polk ever made, but still rolls off by 20hz.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

Your room is small, but if it is totally open ended, you have to take the adjacent room into account. You must pressurize both to feel the bass.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

thats bad.... it opens to a 28x25 room... thats a lot of basement to preassurize... maybe ill close it in... im letting the 505 break in (approx. 5 hrs?) to see if that helps, already beefed up the power cord

The 505 is a decent sub for the money, and works pretty good in a small room. I had both it and the SVS PB10 running for comparison, and it actually has a little better sounding mid-bass than the SVS. It won't go nowhere near as low as an SVS, and it's totally out of its element in the type of room you have. Go SVS, HSU, Martin Logan, or similar quality sub.DKG999
