I know a lot of you own vintage polks and others new ones.
Is Dynamic Balance just a lot of hype?
Can you tell the difference in Polks with DB and those without?

It sounds real good on paper though...

I even made a screen name after it...

    Dmic Blce ;)

    - While Im sure it does something, I dont think you could hear the difference between it and another non DB spook.
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

it makes a HUGE difference. It's almost as good as Bose's "Direct/Reflecting" technology.

    almost.

I would trust that Polk believes and spec'd the improvement throughly. There are some manufacturers that publish this information in "white papers" and some that do not. I don't think the white paper on the Dynamic Balanced theory has been "de-classified" per se, as it's still a current selling point and proprietary.

Whether an individual, as in subjective comparison, would be able to tell the difference sonically, is simply a matter of opinion.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
