Tweeter identification

I'm new to the forum and have seen a lot about tweeters. I have a general question about identification and quality. I am aware of 4 basic "looks" on tweeters.
1) The old flat black plate with the black silk dome.
2) The flat silver plate that says "polk audio" with a clear dome.
3) The "puffy" black plate with a silver dome and 2 visible lines that appear to be for wires.
4) The "puffy" black plate with a darker dome and no visible lines. I think these are the 3000.
Which of these are sl-2000, 2500, 3000? Should any of them be avoided? Is the sl-3000 the cream of the crop, or is the replacement I've heard spoken of even better yet.
I've noticed m7's on ebay with at least 2 (maybe 3) of these different tweeters.

Nothing wrong with SL-1000's, SL-2500's, or SL-3000's. And the original Peerless tweeters are sought after. SL-2000's should probably be replaced by the RD0194-1 tweeters that Polk has available for purchase. The 2000's have a nasty frequency spike in them.Ludicrous gibs!
