Defending the Polk PSW505!

Hi, I'm new to the Polk forum but am a regular at avsforum. I'm curious to know how you guys are setting up your PSW505 subs? I currently have two of these used in a dual set up and they perform wonderfully. The key is however; placement & input used. By input I mean the filtered or un-filtered input on the rear of the sub. For any of you who are using the the filtered inputs you should swith to the unfiltered input if you have a competent AV receiver (by competent I mean good bass management and crossover controls), the improvements by switching to the unfiltered input is dramatic. By switching it to the unfiltered input you are by passing the crossover in the Polk and using your receivers crossover, as a result of this your frequency response will be extended down to 23hz (25 usable, I've tested). As anyone else experienced this or experimented?

Welcome to the forum. You're preachin to the choir. I also used to run dual 505's stacked and corner loaded. They sounded great but they have their limitations in the lower octave.
I switched to dual SVS PB10's and got to enjoy watching all my DVD's again.

I understand the SVS subs are great, but I specifically wanted to know if anyone had any experience using the unfiltered input, I really try not to get into comparisons, sound is such a subjective thing. Polkthug which inputs did you use if not both?Don't forget, if she ask's; "You love her more".

I hooked it up about every way you can. I ended up using sub out from the receiver, letting the receiver do the bass management, then connected it to the 505 input that bypasses the 505 crossover.
Here's a graphical representation in my room.
