power an SVS CS sub?

I was checking them out and was wondering if it would work (I'm not concerned about power, but rather the actual connections, placement, etc. of the Polk plate amp). I could save some cash if I just swapped the Polk amp to the SVS..

Maybe... frst off check the impedences- if the SVS driver is four ohm and the Polk is 8, then you're outta luck- the polk amp will melt if you try to drive the SVS loud (which is what you want if you've got a SVS).

The only other possible problem is if the polk amp has some active EQ going on- sometimes they'll boost the frequencies as the driver starts to roll off to get a little lower extension. I'd drop Ken a line & see what he says.

Excellent points regarding impedance and possible EQ issues. I was wondering if Polks were 4ohm. I will wait to see what Ken says. Thanks a ton for the response.

We use active EQ in the plate amp, so driving another woofer is not recommended.
