I saw this and was in shock (not about the feat itself, but the fact that it was actually covered). It's about time that we hear about something good in sports. I've worked in athletics (high school, collegiate and professional) for the past ten years and have become increasingly angry at the coverage of the "bad boys". You never read about the guys / gals who do good and give back to the community. We hear about the alleged rapists (Navy quarterback), murderers (Rae Carruth), thugs (Ron Artest), etc. and it gets non-stop, around the clock coverage. Kudos to the coach as well for helping make this young man's dream come true. It was the happiest day of his life. Wish I had been there to see it.

very touching. actually brought tears to my eyes the first time i watched it..

not anymore though, it's just freakin awesome!

Here's a kid, with a handicap.... has never asked for anything much in life but to be a included as part of the team.. then the coach puts him in the game knowing there's no way in hell he's going to make even one basket. He doesn't play usually, he's the team manager.

But the young man steps up to the plate and simply blows everyone away. like he said himself he was hot as a pistol.

It was his time to shine in the spotlight.. and shine he did. Hero? Maybe, maybe not. but it's something he will never forget, and neither will anyone else there that night.

They are showing a 5 minute story on ESPN now. He went 7 for 13 with 6 for 10 from 3pt land. He was back on the bench the very next game.
