iPod - iTrip Software - Looking....

I bought the iTrip component for my wife and I have completely misplaced the software.

Anyone have the installation software? Original disk would be preferred, as I'm not real cool with copies...thanks for the potential offers, but that's simply a pet peeve for me. I would like to borrow it, if at all possible.

I'm pretty sure it's not user dependent, but if it is, please correct me and I'll figure something else out.

I have looked high and low for the damn thing...enough is enough.

I'm willing to pay postage to and fro, just let me know.

Sure, I think it's cool but the wife uses it....I just DL stuff into it. I discovered that audiobooks are available thru www.audible.com and it really has her motivated...in other words, she's on my **** to get it working.

I do think that iTunes is one of the best supplied software mediums I've run across in my travels. It's certainly redneck friendly and almost idiot proof.

You may have absolutely no interest in such a thing, but I found this to be quite interesting (and almost even tempting). Red Wine Audio has a mod for the iPod. Vinnie of Red Wine Audio says the 4G (previous generation) iPod has a very respectable Wolfson DAC (used in many higher end CDPs), and thus has potential to be a formidable player in the world of high end sources. His mod removes excess 'pit-stops' in the signal path. Here's a quote from his website:
The goal of the Red Wine iMod is to significantly minimize the analog signal path that follows the
output of the internal Wolfson dac chip. We take the analog output (line out) off of the dac chip and
send it directly to the internal 1/8" headphone jack (converting it into a dedicated line-out jack) via
    high-end Black Gate Non-Polarized NX-Hi-Q coupling capacitors.

The result of the Red Wine iMod is a superb sounding, battery-powered, miniature-sized digital playback
source with fantastic features and a stellar user interface.
This necessitates a headphone amp as you no longer have a variably output.

Vinnie says he's compared it to several high $ rigs (including his) and says it compare very favorably with $1k CDPs and even his vinyl rig. You may want to check it out, you may not. I found it interesting.

Here is a thread about it on head-fi.org in case you want to read about it.

Holydoc says: Hi. I am Holydoc, and I have a 5G 60gig Video IPod.

Crowd responds: Hello Holydoc. Welcome to the 12 step program.

Uh...seriously. No I do not have the itrip CD-ROM but I do use the Schosche FM Transmitter from Walmart that ran $14.00. Works like a charm for all my travels and in every rental car I use. No software needed and it is a cheap solution for you to get while you wait on the software from someone.

Might keep her from actually killing you for a few days.

Mike - Is it Griffin who makes it? Pen me in for Friday afternoon, if you are available. I'll bring those nuts...RTA12 nuts.

Holydoc - Thanks for the tip, that's an excellent idea. I figure if it comes down to it, I can grab the firearm quicker than she can....hopefully.
