    What's wrong with that? There's nothing like having a hideous downconverter transformer sitting on your speaker wire....but if you believe it doesn't matter, I guess it's no big deal.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Converters are cool, more gear. Only thing is, when one fries it usually seems to take other things with it.

    I like my rig to be strac....if it isn't needed, get it outta there. No 220v gear will ever step foot in this rack...it isn't ever that special.

    Although that tangent was quite sublime: Down-converting would be from 220V to 110V. An UP-converting tranformer would work, although it's not required, as you can get single phase 220V from your existing electrical service with little effort.
