3.1tl's for sale local to Maine $600

Well I'm getting married soon and need to get rid of my longtime buddies the 3.1tl's. I bought these as demos out of the Pennsylvania Bryn Mawr store back in 92 so in theory I've been the only owner. I have the interconnect cable and the carpet and hardwood floor spikes that came with them. The manual is around too although I'll have to dig for that. They've made 5 moves with me and have accumulated a few knicks around the bottoms. I took a pic of the worst one which is in the back corner and I think it could be covered up with a touch-up pen and not be noticed. Very very small knicks that most would probably not notice. All grill material is in good shape although the lower part of the front has what looks like a couple places where it started to pull but once again very minor and probably not noticed unless really looking. No tears in the cloth. These are for local sale only as I have the boxes but they are well worn and unable to protect them during shipping. Also, I prefer someone to come by, listen, look, and be completely satisfied before buying. I realize Maine is far away from most but thought I'd give you guys a shot at them first before they hit Craig List. $600. I'll be posting my Refinished SDA-1B's also. I haven't sold here but you can check out my feedback on Ebay under flttech
PS, I took low resolution photos to make it easier to upload but they seem to have made things a bit distorted. If anyone needs higher res pics let me know and I'll get them out.

Decent price, for an often underrated SDA. Good luck.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

yep, after 6 years as a single man I found someone I know I can settle down with. Retiring from the military in less than a year and heading down to Georgia. She has 2 younger children from a previous marriage so me being anal like I am I've decided I don't want to have to watch anything happen to my speakers and would rather let someone else enjoy them. I've got a set of Cambridge Soundworks I'm going to try to live with until the kids get older. It's a trade-off I don't mind making though.

Ok, here's the deal.....Sunday night I'm going to the Palace Theatre in Waterbury, Connecticut to see David Sanborn with Chris Botti. After the show we'll find a hotel somewhere and Monday morning I can detour to you (Portland, ME is it?) to pick up the speakers for $500. Deal?

    Hey Mark:

For some reason those speakers look like Monitor 10b's. Time for more coffee. ;)

    George,
down to the Douglas area. Southern Georgia. Not moving there until the end of the year though.
    Joe,
I have 10 months to get rid of them. As the time gets closer I may lower the price but for now they stay up near $600

AHA!!!! You said "NEAR" $600. Ok fine, put me first if you don't get your price. I'm about 5 hours away from you. I leave Sunday morning so if you change your mind let me know by Saturday night.

I don't "really" need them, but since I've gotten on the Polk bandwagon I'm ready to give up my Cerwin Vega's in the upstairs system for your 3.1's.

Btw, pm me with your phone number just in case I need to call you from Connecticut.

I am happy to report that these 3.1 tl's are now resting comfortably in their new home. It was a nice day for a drive today and no hassles at the border.

I've never actually seen a pair of 3.1tl's. Do they utilize just one SDA driver per speaker?

I wouldn't say "envy" because some guys on this forum have amazing sound systems.

I can now say that I have completed the speaker "collection" for my system. Final count is a pair of SDA SRS and a pair of 2.3tl's as the mains, a csi5 for the center, and a pair of fxi5 for the rear. The center and rear were purchased brand new in the box. The 3.1tl's are for the upstairs system where I will retire the Cerwin Vegas.

Thank you...yes, i think the price was pretty good, and they really are in mint condition. I assured Kelly that they were going to a good home.

Glad to know you made it back safe Joe. I spent all night setting up my 1B's to take the 3.1's place. I'm sure the 3.1's will stay in the Polk family for a long time. Thanks again. Mitch

By the time I reached the mountains in New Hampshire it was dark. And as we know there are a lot of moose around there. I was REALLY concerned about hitting one on the road. The last time I drove through there a few years ago I DID hit a moose...let me tell you, it ain't no fun smacking into one of them things at midnight on a deserted road.
