Mmmm...i own a pair of Monitor 50 (great speakers) and the next month, i add to my "little system" a pair of monitor 30 as surrounds. With low bucks, you've got a great surround quality with these bookshelfs. The sound is crystal clear and very detailed. Perfect match for Monitor 50. IMHO, is better than R-15's.
i tried this Mon.30 in a store with Yamaha RX-V1500 receiver and Mon.50 as fronts and sounds great. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC for movies (i can heard things that i' can't hear before). Sounds loud without distortion. (Not very loud).
Consider this speakers. Try it if you can !!! ByeMy current new system (step by step )

I am very happy with my Monitor 50's and my CS2. I have heard both the Monitor 30's and 40's and liked them both. Would it be worth the extra money and go with the 40's? I was also looking at the FXi3 but was wondering if they would match. I like the option of Bi-pole/Di-pole but is not a must. Thank you for your help.Polk Monitor 50's (fronts)

I love my r15, for 60 bucks a pair:D
anyways, I have never heard a direct comparison between r15s and monitor 30s. I have listen to both the m10 (which is just a new R series, m10 was same price as r15s was at regular price) and monitor 30s at the same time and there is a huge difference. The monitor 30s win hands down.AVR: H/K AVR240

my vote is to look for used R series for surrouns, then take the extra money and put it toward the sub, say, a nice SVS pc or pb plus series should fir the bill nicely.Living Room 2 Channel -
