Jesse, whats the deal on the Amazing replacement woofers - this doesn't affect that, does it?

I don't think so as the woofers come from Dynavox which has no relationship to Carver, per say. Although, I did hear that that the woofers from Dynavox are backordered. Also, Roland at Hi Tech does have the proper foam surrounds and will refoam the woofers.

hey jesse, is refoaming them hard. I got 8 drivers to practice on after replacing with the dynavox drivers. I figure practice might make perfect. can I order just surrounds anywhere?

Lou, I've never refoamed a driver, but I understand from Roland that on the Carver's the toughest part is removing the old foam, something about the paper cone being very thin and fragile. In fact, he said that he isn't always successful. I'm not sure if he sells the surrounds or not. I do know they have a special roll to them, so just any 12" surround will not work properly.

Sad news. Carver service was first rate and very reasonable.

It's not really that sad. These things happen, especially with an unconventional circuit design. Who wants to mess with that?

Your last visit, I told you to sell that gear while it still works - get to it already.

IMO, it's not so much about the design but a company choosing NOT to support thier own products....that's sad.

Ditto. I would have like to have owned some Carver gear at some point in the future.

Carver was off the menu years ago and they were gracious enough to support that bargain basement gear as long as they did....good riddance.

Do you think SDA is any different?

What a shame. It may not be among the elite, but I feel it's pretty solid gear.
