i have a older model paradigm ps 1200 and i have beat the hell out of it since 1998. it wasn't until after i purchased my polks and found this site 7 years later that i learned to set it up properly.. my question is what are the signs that my sub is needing replacement? i have only recently made sense of what i'm hearing as far as quality of sound over plain loudness. i am wondering if after all these years of misuse/abuse it may be time to purchase a new sub? what should i be listening for?

    if after your sub is calibrated and then if it doesn't sound good to you anymore. then it's time to upgrade.. sometimes it's tough to upgrade something.. especially if it's working just fine.

    Find a fellow Canadian with a good decent sub and demo his... then you'll know if your sucks or not. Come down to Washington state and you can demo mine.

    i am looking for audible signs? i have tried other peoples subs in my place actually the problem is no one i know has a 12 inch sub so its hard to compare the sound for me. i am probably worried about nothing to me it still sounds great.... thanks for the offer danger boy .. i may be going for a drive soon.

    cracking boping and scratching. also check the suround if it dont make any funy noises and the suround is intact you are good. yhe olny othe rhing could be a burnt vc but you are not feeding it enough power to do that.
