I'm sure this one has been hashed over once before in here but i can't find anything on it. What's the verdict?

    Round 1

    Round II

    Round III

    Round IV

    Round V

    Round VI

    Round VII

This should get you started.....I use both, but only because if I used one or the other I would run out of the perspective inputs, otherwise I would use only optical, less risk of interference....

The sound quality is the same. I tried both (obviously i have the same interrogant) and decide for the COAXIAL digital.

The principal reason is it seems more sturdy (especially on the connector sides). This terminals, if you buy a great cable (not recommend you a CHEAP COAXIAL CABLE) are made in pure gold (e.g. Monster )

Remember, buy a GOOD to GREAT Coaxial cable ... (not cheap) . Bye !!!
